Frederic Cossard needs little introduction. His wines are legendary in Burgundy, and we love what he does. This is one of his négociant projects in the Jura. From the town of Saint Agnes, in the south of the region. The vines are 50 years old, Frederic has fermented with whole bunches for a week, then 6 months in old Burgundy barrels.
Wine profile: a pure, almost ethereal expression of ploussard, detailed red berries, hint of bitter citrus and exotic spice.

Frederic started his domaine in 1996. Domaine de Chassorney started with a few hectares of vines rented in Saint Romain and Auxey Duresses and now comprises ten hectares of vines across several villages. He also acts as a négociant, which gives him access to fruit from some of the greatest vineyards in Burgundy. These wines are bottled eponymously, as ‘Frederic Cossard’. The Cossard’s have worked organically from the outset and now focus on homeopathic treatments and remedies tailored to the needs of each site.
