Forjas del Salnés
Leirana is a 100% Albarino from the highly mineral soils of the Salnes valley, right next to the Atlantic ocean.
No amount of words can adequately describe the wines from Forjas del Salnés. To taste them is to taste a true example of Galician history, with the slight bite of Atlantic salinity reminding you of the coastlands from which they originate.
Wine Profile: pure and elegant with notes of honeysuckle, white fruits and plenty of minerality, framed by a long, mouth watering finish.

Forjas del Salnes
Based in the north of the Rias Baixas region, close to the Atlantic ocean and nestled into the mountains surrounded by the pine forrest of this verdant land, Forjas del Salnes is owned by Rodrigos Méndez. Rodrigos spent much of his winemaking life working with Spanish legend, Raul Perez. He farms on very poor sandy granitic soils and his vines can be up to 200 years old, as the harsh growing conditions meant that phylloxera couldn't survive here. As he is tucked away up in the mountains, he can work organically and not be affected by other conventional farming practices. He works with both stainless steel and oak, and produces wines of superb quality. His wines are destined to be drunk with amazing seafood, like they would in Spain.
