Domaine Causse Marines
Not many people know that other than our beloved Jura, there is only another region in France known for historically making oxidative style wine (non-fortified) and that’s Gaillac, in South-West France. The wine is made simply and aged in old barrels for 12 months. This is Patrice Lescarret's 1996 and is still so fresh and vibrant, but with all the depth, texture and complexity you'd expect from such an old wine.
An oxidative nutty nose is followed by more nutmeg, almonds and dried tropical fruits on the palate. Yum!
